Single Planning Committee

Interest in this subject has greatly increased. At the meeting called last Monday, 27 Town and Parish Councils attended and spent several hours putting their various and well thought out objections to the District Council's proposals. A vote was taken at the end and just two people out of 47 voted in favour with nearly everyone else being opposed. Even the chairman of the planning committee said he preferred three committees rather than one!
At the Council meeting on Tuesday I shall be calling on the leadership to withdraw the proposal and wait to see whether public opinion or the party whip prevails.
