Flood Relief

The District Council now has some government funding following the July problems. Around 850 houses in the District are known to have been flooded in the living areas and payments of £200 are to be made to each. In addition further funds are available in cases of hardship.
Those who have been affected should have received forms to claim. If anyone has been missed please let me know and I will be pleased to help. Each of the Parish Councils has also been asked to process forms for their areas.

Obviously much planning needs to be done across many aspects of our life, to ensure that we learn from the problems. The Council is looking at the effectiveness of its work to help those who suffered, and what can be done locally to deal with the issues of climate change. I will post more as this continues.
