Another success for public opinion

Another example of the power of all our views has been the District Council agreeing to keep the two planning Committees (or development control committees in council speak)on which all Councillors sit, rather than than having a select few sitting on one smaller committee.

I was pleased to lead opposition on the Council and the support received from Town and Parish Councils was most important in helping persuade the controlling group to drop the plan.

Of course had they listened to the call for proper public consultation in the first place, a lot of Council effort could have been used for more beneficial purposes.
