Broadband
I have asked our MP Sir Michael Spicer if he would look into the problem of those areas locally that do not have broadband and he has provided me with some further information. The good news is that the Wichenford exchange (01886) is due to be enabled on 8th September. Unfortunately, those of us who live more than 6km cable length from the exchange are too far away to receive it. BT, however, is currently conducting trials in Milton Keynes to extend this 6km distance. The results are due during September and BT say that the current results are "quite good". There is a website at www.bb4mk.org which details what is happening.
Hopefully this will solve the problem as BT have a goal of 100% coverage by 2005. If not I shall return to the subject.
