Curious Savings
Thanks to the Freedom of Information Act, I can now reveal that the answer to the question as to how much it will cost to make savings in MHDC employment costs of £500,000 up to March 2009 is........£650,000.
I hope that the administration will now allow a debate in public (where they can attempt to justify this). This would then allow a public answer to my next question -was the cost given to Council when this decision was made, greater than £650,000 and if so by how much?
If a decision is right it should be made publicly. If it is made behind closed doors or information slipped in on the quiet(as with the £2m increase in costs for a new office building)we must assume that it cannot be justified and question the motives.
